Intriguing. Very Masonic. It would make a good set for 'The Magic Flute.'

Wowzers. ..... stunned. It's just magnificent. The Tree of Life, the River of Life. The City of God? And you did all this on a piece of paper from a looseleaf book?!! Goodness gracious ...

Thanks for the compliments and the fav. Most of my drawings are on looseleaf paper and unfinished. For me it's not so much about the finished product but the state mind that the act of drawing places me in. It's a kind of spiritual experience if you know what I mean.

Thank you. I was working on this when a couple of Bro.s came to visit, six months later I was raised and so the quest continues as I work my way to the east.

'The Magic Flute' is a cool piece.

It's interesting to say the least. From a distance, the whole tree of life thing reminds me of certain parts of the anatomy, internally. The grail reminds me of the womb, and the liquid spilling into it, sperm. The tree reminds me of the spinal cord, and the top of the arch, with the eye, reminds me of the pineal gland. Ink blot test? lol Overactive imagination + Gray's Anatomy + Metaphor 101 = Crazy ideas. :D

I like your interpretation. In many ways you're very close to the mark. ;)

Been studying it. lol
The sun is ringed with sperm, suggesting the sun is symbollic for the egg. Which reminds of the Akhenaton (spelling?) image with the sun rays streaming down with weird wriggly shapes on the ends. So is this piece suggestive of the Creative Force?
Or are you going with the grail is the blood of the royals who descended from Jesus and Magdalene theory?
Sex magick?
Or is this just haphazard symbols from masonry, tossed up together?

BTW, I was pondering the meaning of the inverted pentagram. In masonry it means something a bit different than in mainstream witchcraft, such as the mirrored self (being both dark and light? positive and negative? that kinda thing? ) or is it God reaching down to man "V" vs. man reaching up to God "^"? Also, why is the J pillar wrapped in a helix, whereas the B pillar is straight lines? (Forgot the J, is it Joab? and the B, Boaz?)

Yes the sun is representive of the sperm and egg...I remembered seeing something like it on a Grateful Dead album cover back in the 70's.
Akhenaton's (Moses?) sun rays were not an influence in this drawing but they do come into play in my 'Masonic Mandela' drawing.
I tend to lean towards the grail being a Creative Force although it is possible the Jesus and Mary's bloodline may have survived. To me it's not about blood, it's the soul that is important.
Sex, magick, the Creative Force, life, death, it's all an interwoven part of the cosmic tapestry.
Knowing what I know now I would probably change a couple of things but over all intuition served me well.
The pillar with the helix is suggestive of the apprentice pillar in Rosslyn Chapel and also the serpent in the guarden of eden. The pillars are Boaz and Jachin.

Well then, if you're up to a long, long read, but one that is absolutely fascinating, check out this guy's historical timeline (notice Moses in it and later, notice the european connection... great reading, very indepth): [link] (you have to be a history buff to enjoy this, btw, otherwise you will get lost in all the charts and tables regarding the descendancy of the pharaohs of Egypt lol).

So then your piece is about sex magick? I realize sex is fun, interesting and creative but spiritual? Seems to me the concept of the spiritual is to rise above the experiences of the flesh by getting un-involved in its whims and demands, so that we "transcend" if you will, the visible plane (gads, i sound like a new ager. lol). Concepts like sex magick lend themselves to readily to the idea that all religion stems from the ancients use of hallucegenic mushrooms. That's rather a conceited notion, to assume that all people who ever had a spiritual or religious experience, did so because they were stoned on peyote or some such. lol

I would love to see your interpretation of a biblical Zoa! Or Ezekiel's Wheels!

Thanks for the link, I've bookmarked it so I can dive into it when I have more time. And yes, I am a history buff, I love to read.

And no, this piece isn't about sex magick, although it does contain elements of it.
I think there is a big difference between sex just being fun and it being a spiritual experience. When it is shared with total selfless love there is a merging of souls that transcends the flesh.
I agree that drugs have nothing to do with religious or spiritual experiences although they can sometimes be a catalyist(?) for inducing such experiences provided the user is already searching for spiritual truth.
